Abstract

India has become the pharmacy of the globe exporting pharmaceutical products to more than 200 countries. India has the third largest pharmaceutical sector by volume in the world.1 The cost of production here is lower than that of the western countries approximately by 33 percent.2 Now, India is being looked at as one of the preferred destinations for medical tourism too. This article highlights the reasons for India being considered as the sought after destination for medical tourism. No doubt, medical tourism is a major economy boost to the country as well as a key job creator.
