It aims at describing the essence and rationale, areas of improvement in capital regulation under Basel III and the prospects and challenges arising in the process of adoption of Basel III in general and more specifically for Indian banking system in a systematic and coherent manner so as to facilitate better understanding about the most significant reform measure that banking system is currently subjected to.
