Abstract

On December 12, 2023, India witnessed its first ever listing of a Non-Profit Organization on the social stock exchange segment of the nation’s two largest stock exchanges, National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. and the BSE Limited.1 It was an unprecedented event in the history of capital market of India, which marked the beginning of development of a transparent and structured ecosystem which aims to bridge the gap between social sector finance and private capital.
