“Information and Communication Technology†(ICT) is a key driver of growth in almost all sectors. But due to uneven presence of digital infrastructure, an imbalance is witnessed in digital access in the country in terms of teledensity, internet penetration, electrification, education and poverty level. In this backdrop, the current article seeks to assess the determinants of digital divide, analyse the role of ICT diffusion in bridging digital divide and also describe a few Government initiatives in bridging digital divide in India.Downloads
