Abstract

The abolition of a multi-layered system of taxes and the adoption of a uniform rate of tax all over the country will significantly add to the image of India as a country eager to provide a modern fiscal face. Fiscal history is about to be made when Parliament takes up for approval the long awaited Goods and Services tax Bill in February 2015. We have been talking about this Bill for years.
