The Century-old State-owned Department of Telecommunication (DoT) in India, continues to generate net operating revenue since its inception. There was also a steady increase in its profits with a corresponding increase in the ACGR. Whenever the funds were needed for investment, the DoT met it by increasing the tariff under the powers conferred on it in the Indian Telegraph Act.Downloads
