Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan: A Step to Steer India Towards Self-Reliance

The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India Narendra Damodardas Modi has announced a stimulus economic package worth INR 20 lakh 97 thousand 53 crores on 12th May, 2020 known as ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyaan’ or Self- Reliant India Movement in order to convert the tremendous challenges faced by the nation in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic into opportunities and make the country self-reliant. The present paper highlights the major issues addressed in the package and their implementation and also identifies the implications which are expected to be derived from the package. The paper concludes with some suggestions for proper implementation of the economic package for making India self-reliant in near future.Downloads
