Critical Review of Digital Transformation in BHEL VS. L&T

Abstract

Digitization of business adopted in the last few years and its varied applications in functions and processes of big corporate managing dispersed projects and resources, has been both a challenge as well as a technical advantage for time and resource optimization in projects. Review of the impact of the digital transformation implemented in BHEL vs. L&T, correlated with their overall financial performance, shows a vast difference between the two in the same period partly due to the depth of the digital improvements implemented in L&T which has unfortunately been delayed and ineffective in BHEL till date. The most crucial inference of this critical study seems to be that the Determination, Speed and Scale of DT, clearly visible in L&T and missing in BHEL, holds the key for success of the whole drive and likely to radically impacts the overall business success especially in emerging arena of energy and smart infra.
