Cost Management Experiences in Logistics and Shipping Firms

Abstract

In the recent past many changes have taken place in the world economy in general and service firms in particular. The business environment is turbulent and laced with uncertainty which is continuously changing and is full of opportunities and challenges. Companies are necessitated to change their business practices, technologies and adapt to newer ways to contain and manage costs even more aggressively in order to gain competitive advantage. In this study the author underscores the importance of Cost Management, by realizing its overriding role in determining the sustainable growth. The present study tries to analyze firms in logistics and shipping firms in India.
